  • Mouthiness. Not to be confused with those sassy little attitudes and talking back (that comes later), this kind of mouthiness refers to when babies chew, gnaw, and even bite on things around them. 
  • Ear pulling. You may notice your tiny tot pulling on their ears to relieve the pressure and pain they are feeling. (Note: this may also be due to an ear infection)
  • Irritability. Cranky, fussy, grumpy, testy — whatever you call it, a teething tot is simply not themselves. Sweet giggles have been replaced with ear-piercing cries, and your little one may be extra clingy.  
  • Drooling. Not to be confused with your everyday baby drool (or a Saint Benard), teething can cause babies to drool like it’s going out of style. Prepare the bibs!
  • Rash. Excessive drooling means extra saliva will live on and around your baby’s mouth and neck. It’s important to wipe away the drool because it can quickly turn into a rash. 
  • Trouble sleeping. And of course, if your precious angel is suddenly struggling to drift off to la-la land, it could be a sign of teething. This important milestone can be extremely uncomfortable and may make it especially challenging for a baby to fall asleep and stay asleep.
